Sources close to Oscar and Rita have confirmed that the two have been an item for about three months, having met via family connections.

In an interview with the Sun on Sunday, June Steenkamp, Reeva’s mother, warned Rita about Oscar’s temper. “He was angry – and he still has a problem with anger,” she said. She also reportedly managed to block his parole twice over his unresolved anger issues.

People are talking about the striking resemblance between Rita and the late Reeva. Social media users have expressed shock and disbelief at Pistorius’ new relationship, with many questioning how he found love again. User Grant Rivers tweeted:

“I was both shocked and horrified when I read the story about Oscar Pistorius & Reeva Steenkamp. I totally understand he’s served his time, however seeing this morning that he has found new love & she is the spitting image of Reeva, I can’t help but feel a little nervous for her.” Another user, @lucusmelee, commented on the similarity between the two ladies, “Oscar Pistorius is dating again and the girl looks exactly like his ex, whom he shot to death… It’s crazy that a convicted murderer can get another model-like girlfriend and I can’t get someone to like me.”*

Patrick McGongale added: “Since I was last in a relationship, Oscar Pistorius dated a girl for two years, murdered her, did 9 years in prison for her murder, just been released, and is dating another girl 😂.” Meanwhile, @DrRebeccaTidy voiced out her disbelief:

“How on earth has Oscar Pistorius found a new girlfriend? He’s still on parole for killing the last one.”

You might be wondering what Oscar has been up to after his release. He’s been volunteering at Dutch Reform Church to get his life back on track. His parole conditions include attending anger management classes and restrictions on his movements.
